All the otters of waters

The difference between sea otter ad  river otter are that river otters are much smaller than sea otters.  Both species spend most of  their time in water but only river otters are the only ones who can walk on land, they have  long tails to hold their balance while walking on land.

Sea otters

Otters are great creatures they are also mammals like whales. They breath air but they do not have blow holes they have nostrils. They are the only marine mammals that have fur. They have to groom (groom means clean  ) themselves so they wont drown.

Baleen whales

This is a picture of the whale would  be.I took it from,,, http://whales.findoutnow.org/whale-anatomy.html
Baleen whales are the largest kinds of any kind, and the largest of them all, is the blue whale. These species have another kind of way of living under water. They have baleen instead of teeth, two blowholes instead of one, they eat thousand times smaller food, and have much more blubber than toothed whales do.

Kinds of whales.

These are some of the whales living on earth.
There are  about 84 kinds of whales they all also divide in to two groups one is toothed whales the other is baleen whales. They have both have quite a different life the baleen whales are one of the biggest animals on earth but toothed whales are much  smaller.

What do whales eat?

This dolphin uses echolocation to find food.
This whale gulps down  tons of wate
Whales  are divided in to two  groups: one is toothed whales, the other is baleen whales. Toothed whales eat meat like fish and the killer whale is the only whale that eats marine mammals but only manatees and dugongs eat underwater plants. They  use  echolocation, which helps them find food. They make buzzing sound which spreads thousands of  miles around.  When it hits an object  it bounces of  it and the whale knows the  shape and size of it and  it flips its powerful fluke  and swims through the water as fast  as a race car and caches its  prey. Baleen whales have quite a different way of living, They eat shrimp like animals called krill, plankton, and other small fish. They use their baleen plates to trap the tiny living animals. They take huge gulps of water with all the food. Their tongue pushes out the water and traps tiny fish and they gulp it down.

Toothed whales.

Toothed whales have teeth.
Toothed whales have only one blow hole.
Toothed whales include dolphins, killer whales, sperm  whales, manatees, and dugongs. They all have teeth and one blow - hole on the top of it  s head. They are the smallest whales and eat fish or plants

Whales  are great built for living in water. They have strong flippers and a powerful fluke,  they can even leap out of water with full body in air. Imagine a person leap out of water.

Whales have blubber instead of fur, which helps keep them warm in the arctic.  They have a dorsal fin  on their back so they won't tip over. They breath through their nostrils called blow holes on the top of their  head.

Whales  are divided in to two groups, one is toothed whales other is baleen whales. Toothed whales have teeth and baleen whales  have baleen plates.
